There are tons of parameters and tips and tricks, but i will just leave the bare basics. After the jump.
To login to your postgresql, at your command prompt:
(will prompt you for the password)
or connect with a selected databse:
After you log in, you can do:
shows how to get help (cool, eh?)
(its a lowercase “L”)
list all databases
connect to [database]
to get info on that table (“\d” without parameter, lists all relations, which include sequences, so to list all tables use the command below)
to list all tables on selected database
to list all sequences
lists all psql commands
help with SQL commands
At this prompt you can also issue SQL commands, but remember to add “;” at the end of the command to execute it.
